As the year comes to a close, we have important news to share and thanks to give!
Sharon Lakes Online Pharmacy Newsflash!!
As part of our ongoing effort to provide our clients the best, most convenient options to order medications and other supplies for your pets, we are upgrading to a new online pharmacy.
Now, when you click the “Online Pharmacy” button on our website you will be directed to a new, more user friendly, online pharmacy with more medication and product options! Although you will need to re-register at this new site if you have previously used our online pharmacy, your registration will no longer require approval by us so you can shop immediately. New features of our online pharmacy include:
- The ability to order Hills Science Diet and Prescription food online to be shipped to your door
- A "Never Forget" program to have single doses of Heartworm or Flea preventative automatically shipped & charged to you each month
- Numerous prescription medications not currently available online will be in our new online pharmacy
- AutoShip options for long term medications
- A lower order total for free shipping, plus multiple shipping options
- The option to order by phone
- Expert technical support available by phone Monday through Friday

Sharon Lakes’ WE C.A.R.E. Fund for Needy Pets and Service Dogs
This is the season where we sit back and reflect on the things for which we are thankful. One area that comes to mind immediately for us at Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital is our WE C.A.R.E. FUND, which is funded through donations by our generous clients and also our staff.
This fund is intended for injured or sick strays, or pets whose owners are having severe financial difficulty and would otherwise not receive the medical attention they need and deserve. The fund also helps to subsidize veterinary expenses for working service dogs, which perform such amazing jobs for their disabled owners. When applying WE CARE funds, we perform the services at cost, and use contributions to do all we can to help in situations that truly need assistance. We require the pet's owner or caregiver to share in the expense in almost all circumstances, so these are not just free handouts, but are really just helpful support in a tough situation.
We have been able to help numerous pets this year because of you and other caring clients like you. For example:
Hampton the Seeing Eye Dog in Training
We recently received a wonderful letter from the Guiding Eyes for the Blind North Carolina Puppy Raising Program saying:
We want to inform you that Hampton, the wonderful black Lab pup that you sponsored has made it in for training at Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York…We certainly count Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital as one of our best friends. You have been so willing to sponsor our pup, and he has benefitted greatly from your expert medical care. We are so appreciative of you and your staff.
We also helped a long-time client experiencing serious financial hardship. Her 2 year old cat needed an expensive surgical procedure to survive, and WE C.A.R.E. helped to cover the surgery costs.
And just a couple weeks ago, one of our clients stopped to rescue a dog who was a victim of a hit & run. He brought the dog to us and we were able to tend to its injuries, and through a combination of our client’s contribution and the WE C.A.R.E Fund. The dog is recovering well and is currently being fostered.
As you know, our mission statement reads: To make a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them by being advocates for the pets we treat, by constantly improving our technical abilities and knowledge and by displaying integrity and compassion in our patient care decisions and in our relationships with the clients we serve.The WE C.A.R.E. FUND is one way we live that mission, and we couldn’t do it without generous donations from you, our loyal clients. Thank you!!
